Pastor’s Message

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us give thanks, by
which we offer to God an acceptable worship with reverence and awe; for indeed our God
is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

One of the most challenging things as a Christian is the idea that I need to “Rejoice in the Lord always.” I do not know about you, but there are days in which I do not want to rejoice in anything. I want to stick my lip out and be miserable. The problem with this is that I know deep down how good God has blessed me, yet I still want to wallow in my little problems.

Over the past few weeks, I have been discussing ways to draw closer to God, and by doing so, we are able to find the strength to overcome our misery. One of the first things is to remind ourselves that we know the ending to the story. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

I find comfort in those words that my brothers and sisters who have gone on to be with the Lord are no longer troubled by this world. I find comfort that my prayers are heard by a living God. I find comfort that many of you pray for a deeper connection to God. I find comfort in the fact that we are able to worship together. Even with all that God has done for us, we still find ways to stick our lips out and be miserable. I can’t say that if you do everything right, you will be able to “Rejoice in the Lord always,” but I can say that God knows your heart and loves you anyway. Our faith is a journey, and each day we are to seek God first.

Blessings,
Pastor Adam
